James: Catholic Rapper

Before coming to the great state of Texas, I was working at the Arlington County Jail. Basically, I would help convicts transition into society- primarily through assisting them find employment and learn social skills. I LOVED my job! I got such satisfaction seeing people do well. Well, of course I had a few nut jobs along the way. I dealt with murders, transvestites (who were busted for prostitution), drug dealers, gang members, everything and anything.
Well, a few days ago, I was watching DATELINE before I went to bed, and it was an episode on abortion clinic bombings. Whose bright smiley face do I see on television- one of my old clients, James. James was an interesting human. I got his file before he was released and was curious to see what a fire bomber looked like, and was surprised to see a skinny, fragile, Einstein looking man. He was extremely religious, and would lecture me on the “Word Of God” and bring me Jesus cards. For all of those of you who don’t know, I was educated in Catholic Schools since the age of 3, so I am used to these sorts of people. He would go on and on, and ask my opinion. I am NOT a practicing Catholic anymore- has something to do with my philosophical education and asking a lot of questions, any who, he would ask me if I believed in Jesus, blah blah blah. I would always tell him I couldn’t discuss it with him, but I believed in premarital sex and birth control, so whatever he wanted to take from that he could, that I don’t judge. He also used to rap- YES, like Tupac or Biggie Smalls, about religion and abortion.
Well, I was able to find him a job- at a fast food restaurant that is closed Sundays- due to him needing to observe the Lord. Here is an article about him:

Falls Church, VA Abortion Clinic Firebombed, Anti-Abortion Extremist Arrested
On February 18th, anti-abortion extremist James Anthony Mitchell, 38, broke into and firebombed a Falls Church, Virginia abortion clinic. Falls Church Vice Mayor David Snyder said that the extremist was clearly, "protesting abortion." Unfortunately for Mitchell, he didn’t leave the clinic before he firebombed it and got trapped inside by the flames. The fire caused major damage to the first floor of the clinic and smoke damage to the second floor.

I really should consider being a doctor.
As I have mentioned in previous posts I thought I had ADD. It definitely was getting in the way of work and everyday life. I am a workaholic, seriously, so anything that gets in the way of that depresses me. I went to my regular doctor who said it sounded like I have it, and she would recommend me to a psychiatrist. She did however prescribe me adderol. I started taking them, and seriously noticed a world of difference. Seriously, I took one- 30 minutes later I was in a “zone” listening to STS9 and working my ass off. 30 page reports- NO PROBLEM….. You need 15 candidates in 4 hours- no problem….15 page contract- so easy!
Well, I did go see a psychiatrist, and after 2 hours of discussing my life with him he said, I wasn’t crazy, and also that I had ADHD (don’t worry mom, I got something in writing, it’s in the mail). That my manic episodes and the crashing feeling after were as a result of the ADHD not the ADD.
Well after taking it for a month, I totally have noticed a HUGE difference. I can concentrate longer, and also it’s slowed me down. My jazzercise teacher even said, I seemed more focus, that I was usually all over the place during the class and loud.
I have to go see him in a few weeks so he can read my adderoll notebook and see if it is being effective.
Told y’all I had ADD or some form of it.

Phantastic Phillies Massacre

I loved the Philly sports headlines today… “Team suffers biggest loss in 140 years” 10-1 after one inning. Thank you Phills for killing, I mean massacring the Reds 22-1. Almost makes up for your loss to the Braves. I special shout out- to my future to be husband… although he doesn’t know it- Chase Utley.

Happy Birthday

I wanted to wish a happy birthday to someone very near and dear to my heart- Laura. Laura and I have known one another since High School circa 1996. WOW- 13 years.... Holy Shit, I am freaking old.... We went to a private Catholic High School, where basically you went to college in VA, and then you lived in Arlington right after. Your families ALL know one another, and you are always remembered during Christmas time and invited to events, although they don’t see you the rest of the year. Laura is one of the most amazing and genuine people I have ever had in my life. She is always there to pick up her phone, gchat or text me on those ROUGH days. In friends, you are to have a reflection of yourself within them- Laura and I both have extreme passion about things, love wine nites, mojitos and dancing.
LP, hope you have a marvelous day. I am sad that I am not there to be with you.
